We Are The Entrikin Family: January 2019

On January 23, we attended the Expedition Exhibition, or EE Night, at Pocatello Community Charter School. Alexander, Dallin, and Emerald displayed all of their hard Expedition work over the school year.

Alexander's expedition was studying potatoes, life cycles, and living and non-living things:

Some of his other projects included studying the ways in which people are different:

And a painting exploring over and under:

Alexander says, "It was very hard work, and I got annoyed over it."

One of Dallin's expeditions was the Revolutionary War. Here is his political cartoon of the Stamp Act:

Here is a Venn Diagram of the original 13 colonies that Dallin worked for two weeks on and was very annoyed with. He wanted to make it a humorous piece, but his teacher insisted that he take it very seriously:

This was Dallin's favorite project of the year: His class and their reading buddies read the book, Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett.

Then each of the students came up with articles of clothing that some animals should definitely not wear. In this drawing, Dallin illustrated that a dolphin should not wear a tuxedo, because it would wear it in the wrong places:

Emerald's class studied dictators of the world and created masks representing each one. Emerald's dictator was Idi Amin:

Emerald's favorite expedition that she has been looking forward to for years is building a tiny house. Ever since she saw the older kids building tiny houses, she has been planning her own tiny house. And finally the moment came!
