Meet the Entrikin Bus! (Exact change is required...)
I love this beast! It's not a 'cool' car. It's not a 'green' car. But in terms of letting our family go wherever we want to and being dependable while doing it - it's the stuff! A 2001 Ford E-350 Super Heavy Duty 15-passenger van.
It's painted white with gray interior. The bus sports tinted windows all around, A/C, tape and CD player with a powerful and thirsty V10 engine that is surprisingly efficient on the highway. It has a whopping 175,000 miles on it, but it's almost all highway miles. It only had a single previous owner - a road construction company.
When my kids want to get in (if we're going somewhere fun) and whenever we get to where we're going, there is a mad rush for the door. It has two side doors and I've removed the seat directly in front of them. This allows for rapid loading and exiting (no trampling, please).
Even with the single seat removed the vehicle seats 12 people. Although the back seat is not as comfy as the rest of them (and you bounce up and down like you're on a carnival ride back there). The middle open area is very handy for filling up with groceries, or bikes, or wagons, or camping gear - depending on where we are going and what we are doing. All the seats can be removed for moving folks or hauling a lot of stuff. It has a trailer hitch in case I need even more carrying capacity.
Cavernous is the best word to describe the interior. Check out the pictures below!
